Review: Benefit Fake up

Hi Lovelies

As you might have read from my last post, I done a little Benefit shopping and picked up their new concealer Fake It Up. Benefit describes this as a hydrating crease-control concealer, which hides dark circles and smooths out fine lines.

To me this is a nice concealer, with a brilliant highlighting power. I prefer this concealer for a night out, due to the highlighting power of this concealer. As you can see by my swatch on my hand its much lighter than my natural skin tone, the Benefit girl at Glasgow airport informed me that under eye concealer should be lighter, although I didn't think I should look like Caspar!

But anyways, the only bad thing I can say about this concealer is that its not for warmer climates, I bough this concealer at duty free on my way to Tenerife, where the highest temp at night would have been 20*C however the heat made the concealer to soft to work with and it kept sliding off my face, even after using a primer and stay spray. I believe this to be due to the conditioning balm, which can make the concealer a bit greasy. Ok, maybe their was more than one little problem.

However, other than the issue I had using it on holiday I would recommend checking this product if you like a very highlighted look for night time.  I hope you liked this little review, I have never written a full post on one product before and would love to have some feed back. :)

Rihanna collection at River Island

Hay Lovely's

I have been anticipating the Rihanna collection for River Island for some time, as she might not be my top 5 celebrates but she does have a good fashion sense. I was disappointed when I was too sleepy to wait to see the collection online. So when I was in town I took a wee look at the cloths they had in the local River Island.

To me the collection is very casual chic, which is very close to Rihanna's style. The only thing I was a little disappointed in that their wasnt more colour, as summers is just around the corner and I did expect some of her home style to be included, as she does have a great beach style but it was very much on the Black/White trend this seasons showing. Here are some of my picks from the collection.

£20 which I purchased today!

£95

£45

£40 (sold out)

All these can be found on the River Island website and in selected stores nation wide. Have you lovely's checked out the collection yet? What are your fav pieces? Please leave comments below :)

Soap n Glory: Kohl Eyeliner Review.

Hay lovely's

So all last December I was going to my lovely BF about the Urban Decay eyeliner set and how lovely it would be to get it would be if Santa go me it (massive hint for him). Unfortunately when the poor boy went to Urban Decay they were sold out, (he did get me the Smokey eye palette review to come) and so he went to Boots and bought me this lovely Soap and Glory set. (I am a spoiled princess and I know it BTW!)

Soap and Glory Kohl Set
The set came in a nice little pink tin with 5 kohl eyeliners: Black, Blue, Brown, Purple and Green. As well as 3 eye shadows; Black, Brown and Purple. (Which is a lot more value for money than the Urban Decay set)

What you get
eye lines set at the top and shadows at the bottom.

As you can see, the eyes liner are very pigmented, they are also very smooth and easy to put on your eye. However, the shadows at the bottom aren't so much they are nice, but I don't see myself using them as much as the liners.

Over all I would recommend this set, especially the soap and glory eyeliners as they are really good value. (They are on sale the now at boots £4 instead of £5 each! Here)

Soap and Glory review: Skin Care.

Hay Lovely's

I really like the Soap and Glory products and I knew that many people haven't tried them (Please go try them) so I thought I would do a little review on their skin care products I have used.

  1. Dr. Spot: This is a little spot fighting gel. Which you just pop on any spot that appears over night and the gel helps reduce this. I have seen effects within a day with this little thing. I would give this a 5 out-a 5.
  2. The Fab Pore Facial Peel: This little tub is full of white cream and wee blue beads which you burst on your face to let all the goodness out. The product feels great on your skin, leaving it smooth and soft after your 10-15 minutes of bliss. I would give this a 4 out-a 5.
  3. Peaches and Clean Cleanser: This is a cream cleansing milk which is meant to be washed off once you have cleansed your face, but I just rum my toner over it and it works really well. I would give it a 4 out a 5.
  4. Face cloths. Clear Here: Deep Pore Purifying T-Zone Cleansing Cloths; were strange to use at first because they have a ruff side to them (the purifying side) but once you get over that they work really well. I would give this a 3.5 out a 5. and Off Your Face Cleansing Cloths; which are lovely and soft for taking your make up off. I would gives these 4 out a 5.
  5. Face Soap and Clarity Foaming Face wash. This is light and fun to wash your face. I would give it 3 out a 5.
You can buy all these products from Boots (here) or from the Soap and Glory website (here).

Benefit Series: Sugarlicious Review!

Hay Lovely's

As promised I will be reviewing the products I bought at Duty free, and first up is Benefits Sugarlicious Cheek set.

rrp £24.50

Sugarlicious is one of three sets that Benefit has came out with this season, for the cheeks. It comes with a selection of products including:

  • Benetint: Rose product used for cheeks and lips.
  • Benefits High Beam: Lovely pink highlighter.
  • Sugarbomb blush: Lovely mixture of bronze, coral and pink blush.
  • Sugarbomb Lip-gloss: Nice light peach gloss with shimmer.
  • Little face brush.
  • Tips & Tricks booklet, this can be removed to allow access to the mirror (I will be doing this later!)
This wee set is amazing and would make a great Xmas present for anyone who is a Benefit addict like myself  or for someone that has never used their cosmetics before and want to give it ago. It will also be very handy if your going on holiday this season., as its a great kit for daytime and night. (remember you don't have to wear, everything at once just because its in a kit!)

You can find these kits at Boots, or  Benefit and other department stores.

Mini product review: Maybelline Popsticks

Hay lovely's

I like the new phase of lipsticks, with a twist that all the chemist (Drugstore) make up ranges are coming out with; Revlon Lip Butters (dislike!), Revlon Just bitten sticks (love) I have read a lot about but I have not read many reviews on the Maybelline Popsticks and I don't know why? They are lovely.

I picked up this little number at the beginning of the summer and have been loving it. Its like a jelly lipstick, which gives you a hint of colour while keeping your lips feeling really soft.  I picked up number 080 called "Cherry Pop" for around £5 However I think they cost about £7-£8 now. I hope you have a great Friday!
