Short Story Review: Twisted Sisters Glasgow!

Hay Lovely's

Now grab a cuppa and site down for a nice read, as I am wanting to talk to you about hair. I am no expert on the subject but thankfully my lovely hair dresser at Twisted Sister in Glasgow is and she shares a few tips with me every time I go in. So I thought I would reward her generosity by doing a wee review!

Finding a brilliant hair dresser is half the battle so when I met Marj about 3 years ago now it was love! Not only does she listen to you, which BTW hairdressers you have to start doing that, but she takes no shit! She tells you if your being completely outrageous: like this one time I wanted to go lighter and she laughed at me and told me no! Now I realise that she was actually right with my nice brown hair would have frizzled under bleach consumption. But still at the time I was shocked most hairdressers I met just go along with you, until disaster strikes and lies saying how lovely you look, when its clearly not the case.

Now Marj has found a new home in Twisted Sisters in the hart of Glasgow's Merchant City, which was a bit concerning for me as I thought that meant scary super-salon prices, but at only £35 for a cute and blow dry its actually rather purse friendly, with a real glitz about it. Twisted Sisters has stapled down the one stop beauty shop for all women: doing hair, make up & nails. Its a modern girls dream location to pamper ones-self before your birthday night out, crazy Saturday adventure or even your special wedding day.

Speaking of wedding days the lovely girls at Twisted Sisters will be attending The Scottish Wedding Show this October (did you like the plug) and have even done a few styling shoots already! See lovely picture below.

Anyway's, I were was I, oh that's right, some examples of there work would prob's be best help to you than me ramble on. Now Twisted Sisters doesn't have a website as of yet, but they are on the Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TwistedSisterHairBar & soon to be on the Twitter & Instragram (social networking at its best).  But I have found some, not the best, pictures of my after hair done by Marj, no before pictures were found funny enough.

what was that style everyone was wearing: Marj done it brilliant anyways.

Getting my colour back: Sorry for the pic (Marj)

Bouncy Birthday hair (Twisted Sisters: Marj)

Some of Marj's 3 best tips:

  1. Don't over wash your hair: Simple old muma stuff but so true now I was a wash my hair everyday girl until Marj shouted at me...but to fair she was right.
  2. Blow dry you hair up-side down: It will be a strange looking one if your drying your hair near the window but if your a flat head like myself trust me its worth it.
  3. Heat product or die: Shes always reminding me to use my heat protecting stuff, which to be honest am a 50/50 on that one because I always forget to use it while blow drying my hair.
Now am sure she has given me more advice than this but to be honest am hopeless so its best to book an appointment and hear it for yourselves.  Thanks for reading :P

Tuesday

My new hair: chocolate brown!

Hay lovely's

Hows your Tuesday going? I have a wee day off work today, to get my hair dyed and thought I would show  you the outcome. My Hair is naturally brown, but this summer I decided to experiment with colour (Yip it took me 25 years to dye my hair and to be honest it was worth it!) and get on bored with the ombre effect.

This was my hair last week!
This was my hair when I first got it done !
Why? The hair style was lovely at first but then then it started orange-out and then I noticed every second person had that style of hair and I thought yea am over this! So I made an appointment with my brilliant hairdresser, who I love, at K Hair Dressers in the south-side of Glasgow and with a cheeky 50% got my colour done today!

This is the result and nice Chocolate brown, Cheryl Cole inspired ( I love her) and my lovely hair dresser showed me how to work my hair extensions, sorry they were bought form a local shop in Glasgow that my hairdresser uses and I don't know the name of it! all for the very reasonable price of £36! (Tip not included, FYI always tip your hairdresser 15%!)

If any of you ladies or gents are from the Glasgow area the hairdressers is called K Hair designs in Shawlands, they are amazing and well worth checking out! They also have a Facebook page with many competitions and discounts!

Saturday

Free-B's to bag!

Hay lovely's

I have just picked up a few magazines for my wee trip down to London. I might only be on the plane an hour but I am like a 4 year old I MUST BE ENTERTAINED! So I picked up Instyle Magazine and Marie Clare. Now I do read these magazines but they also had great free-be's this month!

  • Instyle: Benefit free-b's! It is only their mini sample sizes but I prefer these because they fit better in my handbag: There is 3 which you can collect or pick up Sun-beam, Benetint and Cha Cha Tint. I personally went for Sun-beam because am not a fan of the other 2!

  • Marie Clare magazine: Has two free-b's this month one is Doves Hair Therapy: a combination of conditioned and hair treatment for coloured hair (Yet to try but I smells lovely!) and the other is L'Occitane Hand cream. They had already done a free-b on this last year which I picked up and liked but no so much that I would pay the full price so I thought I would get another one. Ps dont get the brown one it doesn't smell that great!

Hope yous all have a great weekend peeps! (sorry guys just noticed I used the Instyle Mag for the Marie Clare prodcts..Oops!)

Sunday

Pretty Feather-hair extensions

Hay lovelys,

So I have been a bit bored with my hair recently but I don't dye my hair. I am just too lazy so I have seen these wee beauties about and thought mmm I like..I Buy.

Now I have been eyeing these up since last December but thought the colours I wanted were more summer and actually forgot what website you bought them from until I watched this youtube video from SWalker (she's amazing!).

The hair natural and cruelty free which is great. You can also style them with heat but it says don't go over 180 degrees. I found them easy to put in/take out and think they will look awesome on holiday!

The hair is from http://www.picassohairfeathers.com and they are priced in Dollars but you can use paypal to pay for them which I recommend to pay them with as its the safest way to pay over the net!

Leave me a wee comment guys if you have any new hair tricks I should check out.

Hope you enjoyed my wee post. Take Care everyone xx
